Relationship with Him

Fiction Work –

"We have to be patient if we want answers."

She understands the difference now.

She understands why she had to let him go, stay miserable, and then find “him”.

He always made her feel weak - not necessarily in a bad way, but more like weak-in-the-knees way.  She couldn't say the right things at the right time to him, even when she knew what she wanted to say. She always let him take control, always let him have the last word.  I don't know why. It wasn't a competition. It was just the nature of the relationship.  She was the passive woman and he was the man who took care of her.

He always inspired the writer in her - in a way that he doesn’t. There was a shadow of melancholy always hovering over him - hovering over them whenever she was there with him. It puzzled her and made her feel conflicted, which gave birth to her writings.
But with him – with him she doesn't feel compelled to write, she chooses to write. With him, she only feels weak-in-the-knees when he is holding her so close right before he kisses her. At all other times, she feels solid strong.  There is something about him that unleashed something inside her that makes her feel – alive.  Alive by all means that she could never have been with anyone else.  And that's the greatest gift.

With him, she feels like there are no unexplored parts of her being anymore.  She has discovered herself – and she finally fully owns herself.

Perhaps that's the difference between a lover and a soul mate.
